Really, you can’t make this up. Police are searching for a shoe bandit that broke into a shoe store, cut a hole in the roof of the store, and stole 20 left shoes before making his great escape.

According to WSVN in Miami, a man broke the Luxe Miami shoe store around 2:30 am last Tuesday, reportedly unable to come through the front of the store, he decided to cut a hole through the roof.

“When he comes down, he kinda falls off, comes to the ground. He just goes up quick and starts grabbing every shoe here,” said store owner Johan Alvarez to WSVN. “It’s a big hit, definitely.”

“When he comes down, he kinda falls off, comes to the ground. He just goes up quick and starts grabbing every shoe here,” said store owner Johan Alvarez to WSVN. “It’s a big hit, definitely.”

The store owner told the news outlet that they suffered a $15,000 to $20,000 loss, and they don’t have insurance.

“Whoever was committing the burglary wanted to go directly to these businesses and get those shoes,” said Miami Police Officer Michael Vega to WSVN.

“These crooks, they actually made three holes on top of the roof, two of them not being in this business, so it’s more of the damage that they caused then what they actually stole,” said Vega to the news outlet. “Talking about what they took, they took left feet shoes. They didn’t take a pair of shoes, they just took single shoes that were on the rack.”

20-year-old Alvarez told WSVN that he built the business himself and is hoping the thief realizes he only has 20 left shoes and brings them back.

“Just come forward, drop off the shoes, leave them here,” said Alvarez to WSVN. “I don’t need to turn them over to the cops. I don’t care about that. I pray that God puts some sense into them and just do the right thing at least.”
