A hurricane information webpage helping those traveling to and within Georgia find hotel and lodging availability, contact information, hours for the state’s nine Visitor Information Centers (VIC), and links to emergency resources, according to Georgia Department of Economic Development.

Three of Georgia’s nine Visitor Information Centers (VIC) – including Valdosta, St. Marys, and Port Wentworth (Savannah) – will be closed Wednesday, Aug. 30.

The restrooms at these three VICs will remain open 24/7, which could change unexpectedly if power outages occur on the properties.

The six VICs that will remain open – including Columbus, Augusta, Lavonia, West Point, Tallapoosa, and Ringgold – are prepared to assist with identifying accommodations and travel information. These six centers will operate under the standard hours of 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. EDT, with restrooms open until 11 p.m.

Any changes to Georgia VIC operations will be updated on Explore Georgia’s Hurricane Idalia information webpage as they occur.
