ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Petersburg Police officers have arrested a Georgia man on the run and wanted for murder.

Shortly before 11 p.m., St. Petersburg Police officers arrested Derek Johnson, 46, a fugitive wanted for two homicides in Savannah, Ga.

According to police, on Friday, October 27th, at 12:20 a.m., Savannah Police responded to a call and found a man, deceased from a gunshot, in the roadway.

A woman was also found deceased just off the roadway, police say

St. Petersburg detectives received information that Johnson was in the St. Petersburg area.

They were able to locate him and arrest him without incident last night.
