Tampa Property Dispute

“Get Off My F****ng Property!” NFL Player Sued By Prominent Tampa Couple

TAMPA, FL. – Anthony Chickillo, a current linebacker with the Denver Broncos has been sued for allegedly violating a neighbor’s property rights which led to violence against a prominent Tampa business couple.

Chickillo was arrested on October 20, 2019, for domestic violence against his then-girlfriend, Alysha Newman, an Olympic athlete.

The NFL placed him on the “reserve/commissioner exempt list” due to the charges, but when Newman dropped charges 10 days later, Chickillo was reinstated as an “active roster” player. He was a linebacker with the Pittsburgh Steelers at the time.

But now, Chickillo’s neighbors, Michael and Charlotte Baker, complain that he shows no respect for a utility easement and access easement which enables both residents to share a driveway en route to their homes and receive utility services.

Citing vehicles and “obstacles” blocking the Bakers’ access to their house, they claim Chickillo expanded the driveway, encroaching on their property approximately ten feet and planted various trees and landscaping further blunting their ease of access and causing a Fios Fibre-Optic line to be cut.

Mrs. Baker’s 92-year-old mother has lost access at times to her in-home medical care, as her nurse has been sometimes blocked from entry, or they are detained for extended periods of time in the blocked driveway.

Chickillo has also allegedly allowed guests to park on the Bakers’ front lawn which has caused sprinkler head and vegetation damage. The Bakers claim Chickillo has directly confronted them, but has also encouraged his guests to act aggressively, allegedly including his current girlfriend, Cheyenne Autumn Snow.

Ms. Snow is accused of “violently and repeatedly battering” 55-year-old Charlotte Baker’s head and face with a “no trespassing” sign, screaming,” Get off my f***ing property,” and calling her a “b*tch.”

While the Bakers claim they have pleaded with Chickillo to respect their rights, they indicate Chickillo’s response is that he will take their land, and “it will be fun.”

The lawsuit demands both temporary and permanent injunctive relief to prevent Chickillo from violating the Bakers’ utility and access easement rights, as well as compensation for attorney’s fees and other expenses, including punitive damages.

It also requests a declaratory judgment by the court to clearly establish easement rights between the parties. Damages for trespassing are included in the suit to address Chickillo’s paving of a portion of the Bakers’ property.

The million-dollar properties involved in this case are located along Lake Carroll in Tampa. Chickillo purchased his home in 2017. The Bakers purchased their home in 1996.

Charlotte Baker is CEO of Digital Hands, a cybersecurity company located in Tampa. She is also a CEO Magazine’s “CEO of the Year,” a Tampa Bay Business Journal “Business Woman of the Year in Technology,” and Secretary on the University of Tampa’s Board of Trustees. Florida Trend Magazine recognized her as one of Florida’s “Most Influential Business Leaders.”

Her husband, Michael Baker, is a former Senior Vice President for Raymond James Financial and a CPA.

Attempts were made to contact the Bakers, but to no avail. Chickillo’s phone was answered twice, with remarks such as, “Call back later” and “He’s not here.”

The Bakers’ attorneys are Erik S. Partlow and Donald A. Mihokovich of Adams and Reece in Tampa. They could not be reached for comment.
