Fire Fauci Act

Green, Gaetz And Steube, Leads Effort To Fire Fauci With New ‘Fire Fauci Act’

A group of House Republicans, led by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green, have rallied behind Greene’s “Fire Fauci Act.”

According to Greene, who spoke about the bill on Tuesday at a press conference, the bill would set Dr. Anthony Fauci’s enormous salary at zero and require the Senate to confirm his successor.

“Dr. Fauci was not elected by the American people. He was not chosen to guide our economy. He was not chosen to rule over parents and their children’s education, But yet Dr. Fauci very much controlled our lives over the past year,” Greene told reporters.

The bill is not likely to go anywhere in the Democratic-controlled House, and with Democrat Joe Biden in the White House.

But the recent releases of hundreds of Fauci’s emails from a year ago have cast doubt on his leadership and integrity in guiding the nation’s response to the pandemic.

Fauci, since the onset of the pandemic, has flip-flopped or outright fibbed on critical issues that affect public policy. They include things such as masking, the origin of the virus, the risk of COVID-19 variants, the risk to school children, the effectiveness of the vaccines, the effectiveness of immunity from those who got sick, the level at which herd immunity may be reached, and whether the U.S., through his office, actually funded the research that may have generated the virus.

Last month, Pennsylvania GOP Rep. Guy Reschenthaler spoke for many on the right by noting that Fauci “has been wrong, intentionally deceptive and inconsistent throughout this entire pandemic.”

Meanwhile, Fauci is the government’s highest-paid employee, making $434,312 last year, which is more than the president.

And Fauci recently lashed out at his critics, saying attacks on him were the equivalent of attacks on science itself.

Yet, Greene noted, Fauci must be held accountable.

“This is not how our country was set up. This is not how people should be governed,” she said. “People are really tired of there never being anyone held accountable, never anyone being fired.”

“People that are not elected by the American people should never be governing our country,” Greene added.

Greene suggested China was seeking to create a bioweapon, and added that Fauci needs to explain what he knows about the development of the virus for that purpose.

Among the eight Republicans supporting Greene are Reps. Matt Gaetz and Greg Steube, both of Florida.
