Hardee County Shooting Victim in Critical Condition, Suspect Sought

HARDEE COUNTY, Fla. – On November 23, 2020, at 10:46 p.m., the Hardee County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in regards to the shooting of a person on Osprey Lane in Wauchula, FL. The caller stated a person had been shot and needed an ambulance.

Deputies arrived on the scene within seven minutes and were directed into a residence where a person (name and information is being withheld due to Marsy’s Law) was found lying on the floor from an apparent gunshot. Hardee County Fire Rescue arrived on the scene once it was determined to be safe and transported the victim to Advent Health Wauchula where they were then flown to a trauma center.

As of November 25, 2020, the victim is still hospitalized and listed as in critical condition.  Investigators are still working to follow up on all leads into the shooting.
