TAMPA, Fla. – With severe weather expected to impact Tampa Bay this weekend, several holiday events have been canceled or rescheduled.

The region is bracing for heavy winds and rain, prompting event coordinators to prioritize the safety of attendees.

Canceled or Rescheduled Events in Tampa Bay

1. Treasure Holiday Lighted Boat Parade

The Treasure Holiday Lighted Boat Parade, originally scheduled for this weekend, has been rescheduled to next Friday, December 22nd.

The decision to postpone the event was made in light of the “unsettled weather forecast” for the current weekend.

The parade will commence at 6 p.m. from Treasure Bay Golf & Tennis in Treasure Island. Additionally, the holiday celebration at Treasure Bay Golf & Tennis will also be pushed back to December 22nd, from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

2. Indian Rocks Beach Christmas Boat Parade

Unfortunately, the Indian Rocks Beach Christmas boat parade, initially planned for Saturday, has been canceled due to the impending severe weather.

The city officials have announced that the event will not be rescheduled, prioritizing the safety of participants and attendees.

3. Gulfport Third Saturday Indie Faire: Holiday Edition

The City of Gulfport has canceled the Merchants Chamber of Commerce Third Saturday Indie Faire: Holiday Edition, which was set to take place in downtown Gulfport this Saturday.

With heavy rain, strong to severe storms, and coastal flooding anticipated, the organizers have decided not to reschedule the event.

The safety of the community is their top priority, and they apologize for any inconvenience caused.

4. Safety Harbor Holiday Nights

Harbor Holiday Nights at Folly Farm in Safety Harbor have been canceled for both Saturday and Sunday due to the predicted inclement weather.

However, Friday’s event is still scheduled to proceed as planned. Attendees can enjoy free parking at Elm and Cedar, from where a trolley will transport them to Folly Farm for a fee of $5.
