Hillsborough County Sets Up COVID-19 Vaccine Site for Health Care Workers

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Hillsborough County is expanding its successful Targeted Vaccine Area program to help ensure all Hillsborough health care workers are able to get a COVID-19 coronavirus vaccine.

The Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County and Hillsborough County has partnered to open a COVID-19 vaccine point of dispensing (POD) for health care workers only, starting on Wednesday, March 3, at Ed Radice Sports Complex in Tampa. The POD will operate by appointment for health care workers who live or work in Hillsborough County.

Health care workers qualified for a vaccine by Florida Governor’s Order 20-315, including those individuals with direct patient contact. Examples are physicians, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, phlebotomists, nurses, home health providers, home medical equipment providers, therapists, dental office staff, pharmacists, and administrative/reception staff, among other health care professionals.

Proof of eligibility is required and will be strictly enforced at the site. The following documents will be accepted:

  • Organizational identification card
  • Medical license
  • Paystub showing employment at a health care organization
  • W-2 IRS form showing the health care organization as the employer
  • An employment verification letter on official letterhead

There are two steps to make an appointment:

  • Create an account with CDR Health Pro by visiting patientportalfl.com. You cannot receive an appointment without first creating an account.

Once you create an account, there will be an option for health care workers to enter a scheduling code. The scheduling code is RADICE03. Once you enter the code, you will see available appointment times for the Ed Radice Sports Complex

Again, those without proper credentials will not receive a vaccine at this site. Ed Radice Sports Complex is at 14720 Ed Radice Dr., Tampa, FL 33626.
