BRANDON, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a false bomb threat at Mintz Elementary School located in Brandon.

On Tuesday, April 9, 2024, HCSO received a call after 10 a.m. about a bomb threat at Mintz Elementary School. School administrators decided to evacuate the school.

Patrol deputies and the K9 Unit arrived at the school and found no evidence of explosives anywhere.

At this time, there is no immediate threat to the school, and everyone is safe.

“We treat school based threats with the utmost seriousness and any threats made are unacceptable,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Rest assured, we are full committed to finding those responsible and holding them accountable. I urge anyone who has any information to please contact our detectives.”
