HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Residents from across Hillsborough County have now had the opportunity to learn about Hillsborough’s Greenways Master Plan and provide feedback on the future of paved and unpaved trails and recreational waterways.

The community has also visited the online Greenways Master Plan virtual hub and provided thoughtful comments to shape the future of Hillsborough County’s greenways.

The resident feedback informed the design of a new draft master plan to replace the original Greenways Master Plan, which was developed 27 years ago by a group of residents, planners, and community organizations.

Since then, Hillsborough County has experienced a population boom, and a revised master plan was in order.

County planners listened to residents, and during the past 12 months, they used what they learned to create the draft Greenways Master Plan.

Residents are invited to visit the virtual engagement hub through Monday, Dec. 4, review the plan, and provide comments.

On Wednesday, Dec. 6, the Hillsborough Greenways Committee will discuss, make changes, and put their stamp of approval on the Greenways Master Plan.

Early in 2024, the Board of County Commissioners will receive the committee’s approval before considering the Greenways Master Plan.
