Tampa Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at the 100 block of W. Adalee St.. at 4:23 a.m. Saturday morning.

Home Business That Creates ‘Halo Wigs’ For Cancer Patients Burns In Saturday Fire

TAMPA, FL. – Tampa Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at the 100 block of W. Adalee St.. at 4:23 a.m. Saturday morning.

Officials say that Engine 5 was first on scene and found a single-story home with heavy smoke showing.

Flames were visible from the front of the home, mostly in the porch area. Crews forced entry into the structure completed a primary and secondary search and found no occupants in the home.

The fire was under control within 30 minutes. Crews continued searching for extensions as the fire has reached into the attic space.

There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians reported at the scene, according to officials.



“Our fire investigator was on the scene and the cause of the fire is under investigation,” said Tampa Fire Rescue in a statement.

The structure was home to the business, Chemo Diva.

The home-based business creates halo wigs for cancer patients using the patient’s own hair prior to losing it during chemotherapy.
