The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Tuesday released data that showed 4,168 Florida hospital inpatients had COVID-19, up from 4,035 in a Monday count.

The data also showed that 408 COVID-19 patients were in intensive-care units, a dip from 421 on Monday.

The numbers of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations increased in recent months as subvariants of the coronavirus spread.
