The Republican lawmaker leading the probe into President Joe Biden’s corruption said Thursday that the House vote to launch an impeachment inquiry could come soon, perhaps by mid-September.

He also predicted it would pass.

“I think the House will vote in September,” Kentucky Republican Rep. James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, told Newsmax on Thursday.

He noted that he and Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio have had several conversations with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy about the matter, and that the pro-inquiry argument seemed to be winning.

Comer said the key revelation was Biden’s use of multiple pseudonym email addresses and potentially thousands of emails to discuss the business dealings of his son Hunter while Joe Biden served as vice president.

Biden and his staff have long denied that he had any involvement with Hunter Biden’s business ploys or his associates, whether in Ukraine or China.

Yet evidence is mounting that was untrue, and that government policy shifted accordingly when Biden was in the White House as vice president.

Ass Comer said in a press release on Wednesday after demanding the National Archives and Records Administration turn over more records of Biden’s emails, “Joe Biden never built an ‘absolute wall’ between his family’s business dealings and his official government work – his office doors were wide open to Hunter Biden’s associates. There is evidence of collusion in the efforts to spin media stories about Burisma’s corruption while Vice President Biden was publicly pushing an anti-corruption agenda in Ukraine.”

On Newsmax on Thursday, Comer said that news of the emails would likely convince many skeptical Republicans to go along with the impeachment investigation.

“I didn’t think there would ever be a government email between Joe Bide and Hunter Biden talking about his business and talking about Ukraine,” Comer said. “What we’re finding is that there’s probably thousands of emails. So this is just more evidence of wrongdoing by Joe Biden.”

Asked about what comes next, Comer noted, “I would predict that in the middle of September, we have a vote. I would predict that it passes.”

“I believe that we’ve gotten more information than anyone could have ever dreamed possible,” the congressman added, ‘and yet, there’s still a lot of information left to get.”

As the Tampa Free Press has reported recently, GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida has said the Republicans’ credibility with the public and McCarthy’s future as speaker both hang on whether they will pursue Biden.

“You’ve got a pile of evidence against Joe Biden strong enough to convict O.J. Simpson in South Central Los Angeles, and yet we’re sort of tepidly talking about maybe beginning an [impeachment] inquiry,” said Gaetz. “We can do a lot better than this. We must do better than this.”
