TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Police, with assistance from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, located the body of a woman believed to be Sylvia Pagan.
“Positive identification is pending confirmation from the Medical Examiner’s Office. They will also determine the official cause of death,” said Tampa Pd.
38-year-old Jovanni Caceres Steffani was the only person of interest in Slyvia Pagan’s disappearance. There were no other subjects believed to be involved.
As a result of the discovery, the Missing & Endangered Alert has been canceled.
“This is not the outcome anyone wanted,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “We send our condolences to Syliva’s loved ones, but most importantly, her daughter Briana during this unimaginable loss.”
Tampa Police issued a Missing & Endangered Alert for 34-year-old Sylvia Pagan, who was connected with an earlier Amber Alert.
