An FBI whistleblower alleges that President Joe Biden profited from a pay-for-play scheme with an as-yet unidentified foreign national while serving as vice president.
Republicans on the Senate Budget Committee and the House Oversight Committee moved to subpoena FBI Director Christopher Wray to produce an unclassified record with the FBI’s possession that alleges “a criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Joe Biden and a foreign national.
The document, an FBI-generated FD-1023 form, allegedly details an arrangement involving an exchange of money for policy decisions,” Iowa GOP Sen. Chuck Grassley and Kentucky Republican Rep. James Comer said in a press release on Wednesday.

“We believe the FBI possesses an unclassified internal document that includes very serious and detailed allegations implicating the current President of the United States,” Grassley said in a statement. “What we don’t know is what, if anything, the FBI has done to verify these claims or investigate further. The FBI’s recent history of botching politically charged investigations demands close congressional oversight.”
Comer, in his own statement, added, “The information provided by a whistleblower raises concerns that then-Vice President Biden allegedly engaged in a bribery scheme with a foreign national. The American people need to know if President Biden sold out the United States of America to make money for himself. Senator Grassley and I will seek the truth to ensure accountability for the American people.”
The New York Post cited an unnamed source who said the document sought by the Republicans implicate Biden himself, and not his family members, including son Hunter, and brother James, who have been involved in shady deals in China and Ukraine.
The Post speculated that the accusation against Biden could involve deals in China, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Russia and Ukraine.

The GOP lawmakers gave Wray until May 10 to hand over any FD-1023 form containing the name Biden. It’s unclear what may happen if he refuses.
On Twitter, GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene noted that just after the letter to Wray became public the Justice Department told The Washington Post that it was close to charging Hunter Biden for his own alleged corruption.
“They just want to lock down evidence,” Greene tweeted, meaning the Justice Department could say the documents sought by Republicans could be blocked as part of an ongoing investigation.
“Joe Biden should have been prosecuted for his crimes before he was even allowed to run for President,” Greene added. “So many in the government knew. The FBI had evidence. … Why did the FBI and DOJ never act?”
“Did President Biden sell out the United States of America to make money for himself and his family? The American people deserve to know!” Greene added. “Release the Biden FBI records!!”
