Police in Georgia have arrested a man for murdering his missing girlfriend after her body was found in a suitcase in her closet Saturday.

According to the Thomaston Police Department at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, relatives called to report Margret Dubignon, also known as “Mellow Yellow,” missing.

Police responded to the residence at 109 W. County Road.

Dubignon’s relatives reported to the police that they had not seen or spoken to her since Thursday, October 19.

In addition, Dubignon’s family reported to the police that her car was missing and that her live-in boyfriend, Freddrick Durham, was not at their apartment.

At around nine in the morning, family members discovered a body in a sizable suitcase inside her apartment closet, prompting police to be called back to the scene.

The body was positively identified as Dubignon’s by the investigators.

Police say they have reason to believe Durham killed his girlfriend before stealing her car, and they have sent out a “be on the lookout” (BOLO) alert.

Police tracked the car in Atlanta with the aid of a Flock camera system, and after about two hours, Durham was located and taken into custody by Atlanta Police Department units. Durham was returned to the Thomaston Police Department by officials so that he could be questioned.

“I would like to thank all of the following agencies and individuals for their assistance and support with this homicide investigation. We would not have had such a successful outcome without everyone’s cooperation,” said a TPD spokesperson.

Durham is being charged with felony murder, hiding a death, tampering with evidence, and auto theft.

“This was a horrific crime and an extremely painful event, yet the family, in spite of their emotions, were incredibly composed, supportive, and cooperative throughout today’s investigation. Our thoughts and prayers are with them,” said TPD in a statement.
