TAMPA, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol Troopers responded to a hit-and-run crash on Hillsborough Avenue near George Road at 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
Troopers say a 32-year-old El Salvador man was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling westbound on Hillsborough Avenue as he attempted to walk southbound across the roadway.
Following the collision, the motorist fled the scene.

Transported to an area hospital, the pedestrian later died from injuries suffered during the crash.
