RUSKIN, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man following an altercation that led to a death on Saturday night.

On May 25, 2024, at 6:37 p.m., HCSO deputies began investigating what initially came in as a possible shooting stemming from an altercation in the 500 block of Bahia Beach Boulevard in Ruskin.

“When deputies arrived they were unable to locate any signs of a shooting or a victim. Due to a witness statement that someone had fallen into the water following an altercation, our Dive Team was called in, and they recovered a body in the water,” said HCSO.

Through investigative means, detectives found there had been an altercation between the suspect, Kamal Padlowski, 50, and another adult male on a boat.

At some point during the altercation, the victim left the boat, and Padlowski followed the victim onto the dock, where he pushed the victim. The victim fell and hit his head on the dock, and Padlowski proceeded to push him into the water.

Padlowski has been arrested and charged with Murder in the Second Degree.

“This tragic incident highlights the severe consequences that can arise from acts of violence, and our thoughts are with the victim’s family during this incredibly difficult time,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister.”The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to ensuring justice is served, and we will continue to investigate this case thoroughly.”

The victim’s next of kin has not been notified at this time.
