Missouri Man Who Carried Pitchfork At J6 Capitol Riot Pleads Guilty

A Missouri man has entered a guilty plea to three federal felonies after being charged with using a pitchfork and attacking law enforcement during the riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

According to the Kansas City Star, Christopher Brian Roe, 39, of the Raytown, Kansas, suburb, entered a guilty plea on Thursday to three charges of assaulting, resisting, and obstructing specific officers. The date of sentencing is set for March 5.

Roe is the twenty-fourth defendant from Missouri to be found guilty in relation to the Capitol riot. Twelve more Missourians still have open cases.

In Roe’s case, a probable cause affidavit contained 48 images of a man the document claimed was Roe breaking into the Capitol, fighting with police multiple times, and attempting to break through a door with a metal bike rack.

As a result of the riot, 1,185 people have been taken into custody, according to the US Department of Justice.
