Another brick of cocaine washed ashore in Florida and was turned in to U.S. Border Patrol.

People conducting a community clean-up at Harry Harris Park found a brick of suspected cocaine on the beach at approximately 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

The brick weighed approximately one kilogram.

According to Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the brick was turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol.

Nearly $2 million worth of packaged cocaine was found in Florida last week and turned over to federal law enforcement.

The cocaine was found in two separate incidents that occurred on Big Pine Key between approximately 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. last Monday, according to Monore County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say that three bundles, each containing ten separate packages of cocaine with a total weight of nearly 75 pounds, were located by a resident near the water on Long Beach Road.

Twenty-five bundles with a total weight of approximately 70 pounds were found just offshore of Big Pine Key by a good Samaritan.

Readers of The Free Press may recall when 11 pounds of cocaine washed up on a Florida beach in October of 2022.

According to Chief Patrol Agent Walter N. Slosar, a Good Samaritan discovered a suspicious package washed-up along the shoreline & contacted local authorities in Daytona Beach.

Authorities say that inside the package contained nearly 11 lbs. of cocaine with a street value of over $150,000.

The drugs were seized by US Border Patrol.
