President Joe Biden’s frail and feeble appearance and fading memory should not be seen as an indictment of all of America’s elderly. Many people in Biden’s age bracket are quite robust and make important contributions to their communities.

Fran Itkoff, a 90-year-old California resident, was one of them. She led an organization called the Lakewood/Long Beach Self-Help Group, part of the network of volunteers for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, an organization Itkoff dedicated 60 years of her life to.

Until last month.

Because she didn’t get the left’s pronoun game.

The Los Angeles-based National MS Society unceremoniously dumped Itkoff because she dared to ask for clarification about the organization’s feverish proclamation of pronouns.

According to the Daily Mail on Thursday, Itkoff noticed more and more email traffic bearing references to “she/her” pronouns.

A colleague asked Itkoff to do likewise, which baffled her. Her mistake was asking for an explanation.

“I had seen it on a couple of letters that had come in after the person’s name. But I didn’t know what it meant,” she told the X account Libs of TikTok. “Because it sounds like you are labeling for females, not males, if you are just putting in she/her.”

“Finally I was talking to her and thought I would ask ‘what does it mean’ and let her tell me,” Itkoff said. “She said that it meant ‘they were all-inclusive,’ which didn’t make sense to me.”

As Libs of TikTok noted, Itkoff soon received a letter from the nonprofit that stated, “As discussed earlier during our phone conversation, after a thorough review of our guidelines and standards, it has come to our attention that there has been a failure to abide by our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion guidelines during your time as a volunteer.”

“Unfortunately, based on the situation, we have made the difficult decision to have you step down from your volunteer position, effective immediately.”

When the Daily mail asked about Itkoff’s firing, the Society doubled down.

“Recently, a volunteer, Fran Itkoff, was asked to step away from her role because of statements that were viewed as not aligning with our policy of inclusion,” the nonprofit told the Daily Mail on Thursday.

“Fran has been a valued member of our volunteer team for more than 60 years. We believe that our staff acted with the best of intentions and did their best to navigate a challenging issue,” the group added.

“As an organization, we are in a continued conversation about assuring that our diversity, equity and inclusion policies evolve in service of our mission, and will reach out to Fran in service of this goal.”

Thus, Itkoff, who in 2008 was given an lifetime achievement by the Society for her work as a volunteer, was done.

‘I was completely shocked,” she recalled of the Society’s notice. “I can’t believe… I had to read it a couple of times to see if I’m getting what she said.”
