Former President Donald Trump is beating out President Joe Biden in Wisconsin, a critical battleground state, following a string of comparable results in other significant swing states.

According to an Emerson College survey, Trump is leading Biden 42% to 40% among Wisconsin voters, with 11% selecting someone else and 8% staying undecided. The study was conducted after Trump beat Biden in several other recent battleground state polls, including those conducted in Pennsylvania and Michigan.

“In a state Biden won in 2020 by less than a percentage point, and Trump won in 2016 by nearly the same margin, this poll suggests a similar trajectory for 2024,” said Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling.

According to recent polls, Trump is also ahead of Biden in national surveys and a number of other crucial swing states, including Georgia and North Carolina.

In a mid-September Reuters/Ipsos poll, Trump leads Biden 41% to 35% in the states with the closest margins of victory in 2020: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
