New Port Richey Woman Killed In DUI Crash On US-19 In Hernando County

A woman is dead, and a man has been charged with DUI Manslaughter after a crash that happened around 5:50 PM on Sunday.

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla -A woman is dead, and a man has been charged with DUI Manslaughter after a crash that happened around 5:50 PM on Sunday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, Andrew Michael Windsor, 38 of Hudson, was driving a car eastbound on Tarpon Boulevard, approaching the intersection of US-19, when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.

Troopers say the car departed the roadway, entered the north shoulder, struck an embankment, and traveled to a stop in a canal adjacent to the highway.

The man’s passenger, a 39-year-old New Port Richey woman, was severely injured in the crash and was transported to an area hospital.

Troopers say the woman died from injuries suffered during the crash.

The driver, later determined to be impaired, was arrested by FHP Troopers for DUI Manslaughter and booked into the Hernando County Jail.
