VENICE, Fla. – The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting in the Park Road area in Venice.
According to deputies, at approximately 12:52 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence where a suspect was armed with a knife.
Investigators say that one deputy deployed a Taser, and the other fired one round from his handgun.

Investigators say the round did not strike the suspect, and he was not injured.
The suspect is being detained as the investigation remains ongoing.
