Horrific Ohio Child-Rape Case Is True, But Torpedoes Part Of The Liberal Narrative

Just when it seems liberals, including President Joe Biden, might be able to claim vindication for promoting the story of a 10-year-old rape victim receiving an abortion, the narrative again blows up.

With help from the victim’s mother.

As The Free Press has posted, many conservatives believed the story of the victimized youngster from Ohio was almost too heinous to be true.

Despite those red flags, Ohio police last week arrested 27-year-old Gerson Fuentes, seemingly confirming the account of the horrific crime.

It surfaced shortly after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.

The only source for the story was a pro-abortion doctor in Indiana who reportedly performed the procedure, and who had a reputation for cultivating media attention. And there were no police reports even though the abortion doctor and another doctor n Ohio who referred the girl to her were mandated reporters for a child sex crime.

Despite those red flags, Ohio police last week arrested 27-year-old Gerson Fuentes, confirming the account of the horrific crime.

Yet, more recently, it turned out the suspect is an illegal immigrant from Guatemala, who apparently lives with the victim and is now being defended by the girl’s mother.

The Spanish-speaking network Telemundo went to the girl’s home. There, reporter Maria Vargas-Pion was greeted by a woman who claimed to be the girl’s mother.

The woman insisted the youngster is “fine,” and added of Fuentes, “Everything they are saying against him is a lie.”

The mother added that she is not pressing charges against Fuentes.

While liberals may still use the alleged rape to argue against imploding Roe, Jorge Bonilla, head of the Spanish-language news arm of the conservative Media Research Center, says the latest developments can be credited to conservative journalists, such as PJ Media’s Megan Fox, raising questions about the case.

“This portion of a broader interview sheds significant light on the familial dynamics of this case, and further vindicates all skepticism over how the story broke and was handled,” Bonilla tweeted on Thursday in reviewing the Telemundo interview. “We don’t even get to this point without the critical work of @MeganFoxWriter and so many others.”

“This appears to confirm my thesis of a domestic situation wherein the confessed rapist is also the paramour of the victim’s mother (other familial relation is possible but less likely). Unfortunately, I saw many such cases while working as a court interpreter.”

“The mother’s distressed defense of the rapist suggests that

a: She is also here illegally and fears deportation

b: The defendant is the family’s sole source of income

c: There is a likelihood of other children in the home

d: Mom is exposed to the removal of the children under dependency proceedings (failure to protect). Has there been such a filing yet and if not why not?” Bonilla added.

As columnist Eric Lendrum of the conservative outlet American Greatness noted on Friday, “The new twist with the role of an illegal alien now brings even more hot-button political issues into the fold, with immigration compounding with the abortion aspect of the story.”
