SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. – The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in the 3500 and 3600 block of 4th Ave. S, after receiving a call around 5:30 PM Wednesday.
Officers responded and found Mitchell Collins (DOB 11/19/1991) critically injured. He was transported to Bayfront Health where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect left the scene but was located by officers and detained.
Investigators believe the two men were familiar with each other and got involved in an altercation that led to Mr. Mitchell being critically injured.
