TAMPA, FL. – On Tuesday at 7:03 pm, Tampa Police officers were dispatched to The Dawson Apartments at 15501 Bruce B. Downs Blvd in reference to a shooting.
Units responded to the Dawson Apartments regarding a subject shot and that the car he was driving crashed into several other vehicles.
Upon arrival, the driver had been pulled from the vehicle by bystanders who were providing CPR.
The driver was not breathing and had no pulse, and suffered from a gunshot wound.
He was transported to the nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injury.
The shooter remained on scene and had called 9-1-1 advising that she had shot the subject who was trying to run her over.
According to the shooter and witnesses on the scene, there was a struggle over her vehicle that he was attempting to drive away in, when the shot was fired.
The investigation is still underway, and we will update this story as more details are released.
