NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. – A motorcyclist was killed when he stopped for an oncoming fire truck and was hit by the driver behind him.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a Hyundai G80, driven by a 78-year-old New Port Richey man, was traveling westbound on SR-54.
Troopers say a Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by a 54-year-old New Port Richey man, was traveling westbound on SR-54 ahead of the Hyundai.

At the intersection of Fencepost Drive, the motorcyclist stopped for an oncoming fire truck responding to a call for service.
The driver of the Hyundai failed to stop and collided with the motorcyclist, who suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
