LAKELAND, Fla. – Polk County Sheriff’s detectives have arrested a man and a woman from Lakeland for felony Accessory After the Fact of a Capital Felony for allowing a fugitive with active warrants to hide at their home.
Polk County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Davie Albarran on Sunday, February 18, 2024, after the PCSO received tips that he was at 10814 Country Haven Drive in Lakeland.
Albarran was taken into custody for his active warrants from Osceola and Orange County.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives conducted an investigation and were able to establish that Madeline Albarran, 41, (Davie Albarran’s sister) and her husband, Angel Nunez, 38, residents of 10814 Country Haven Dr, Lakeland, knew that Davie Albarran was a fugitive from Justice and they knowingly harbored him at their residence since November of 2023.
“We believed at the time that the Madeline Albarran and Angel Nunez were knowingly harboring Davie Albarran, but we had to gather evidence and proof that they knew he was a fugitive from justice on these horrible child sex abuse charges. These two knowingly helped Davie Albarran hide from law enforcement, and had been doing so for months. Now they are both facing a very serious felony charge,” said Polkj County Sheriff Grady Judd.
Davie Albarran was recently featured on America’s Most Wanted – he’s been a fugitive from Osceola County for approximately one year, for sexual battery on a child, lewd and lascivious molestation of a child, and child abuse. He has another warrant from Orange County for failure to pay child support.

The Masked Predator
Under the guise of a friendly and trustworthy individual, Albarran manipulated his victims into forming emotional connections.
He would gain their trust, gradually pushing boundaries and exploiting their vulnerabilities. This manipulation extended beyond the virtual realm, as Albarran meticulously planned and executed his predatory behavior.
The Dark Web: A Haven for Criminal Activities
In his pursuit of pedophilic activities, Albarran delved into the depths of the dark web. This hidden corner of the internet provided him with access to a vast network of like-minded individuals.
Here, he could engage in illegal trades, exchange explicit content, and even participate in live-streamed acts of abuse. The anonymity afforded by the dark web allowed Albarran to operate undetected for an extended period.
The Art of Deception: Albarran’s Modus Operandi
Albarran’s success as a predator can be attributed to his ability to manipulate his victims and exploit their vulnerabilities.
He would carefully craft his online personas to appear genuine and trustworthy. By presenting himself as a sympathetic confidant, Albarran would manipulate his victims into revealing personal information, which he would later use to control and coerce them into compliance.
Emotional Manipulation
Emotional manipulation was one of Albarran’s key tactics. He would prey on the vulnerability of his victims, using their deepest fears, desires, and insecurities against them.
By feigning empathy and understanding, Albarran would create a sense of emotional dependency, making it increasingly difficult for his victims to sever ties with him.
Grooming and Exploitation
Once Albarran established a connection with his victims, he would gradually escalate the nature of their interactions.
Through grooming techniques, he would desensitize his victims to inappropriate content, blurring the line between right and wrong. This process allowed him to exploit their vulnerabilities and coerce them into engaging in explicit activities.
The Legal Battle: Unmasking Davie Albarran
Albarran’s reign of terror eventually came to an end when law enforcement agencies, in collaboration with online safety organizations, successfully tracked him down.
The evidence against him was overwhelming, and he was apprehended, facing numerous charges related to child exploitation and pornography.

The victims of Davie Albarran’s heinous acts are left to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives. The emotional scars inflicted upon them may take years, if not a lifetime, to heal.
