PENSACOLA, Fla. – The state Agency for Health Care Administration issued a final order Tuesday revoking the license of a Pensacola abortion clinic.

The order was filed in the state Division of Administrative Hearings after the agency and Integrity Medical Care, LLC, which does business as American Family Planning, reached a settlement.

The agency in May issued an emergency suspension of the clinic’s license and followed later by seeking revocation.

The clinic filed a challenge at the Division of Administrative Hearings but filed a document in January indicating that a settlement was being finalized. In seeking the revocation, the agency focused on issues such as complications suffered by two women who went to the Pensacola facility last year for second-trimester abortions.

Both women needed to be admitted to hospitals because of the complications, including one who was driven to a Mobile, Ala., hospital by her husband and needed surgery, according to the agency’s complaint.

The final order said the clinic will pay a $343,200 fine in addition to facing license revocation.

A copy of the settlement included in Tuesday’s filing said the clinic “does not admit to any of the facts and legal conclusions” raised in the complaint.
