Pickup Truck Crashes Into Pasco County Fire Station, Takes Out Gas Line, VIDEO

LAND O’ LAKES, Fla. – Pasco County Fire Rescue is on the scene, at Fire Station #35 in Land O’ Lakes.

Fire officials say that an F-250 crashed into a high-pressure gas main before hitting the front bays of the fire station. Due to the gas leak, SR-54 was completely shut down between Ballantrae Blvd and Sunlake Blvd while Firefighters mitigate the leak, and has since been reopened.

Florida Highway Patrol said the man driving the pickup truck, 55-years-old from Wesley Chapel, suffered a medical emergency and lost control of the truck.

Currently, there are no evacuations in progress. TECO gas is now on scene and just shut the gas down. It is possible that residents in the area may smell gas outdoors. The driver of the truck was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
