Pier 60 Reopens In Clearwater

CLEARWATER, Fla – Pier 60 reopened today, Friday, Sept. 22 in time for the superboat races. Following a comprehensive underwater inspection, the dive team determined that the pier’s overall structural integrity is sound. The inspection also identified areas in need of attention to extend the life of the structure.

The storm damage primarily was located on the pier’s expansion joints and to the bait shop’s storage area. Repairs have been made to the joints and any publicly accessible areas.

Later this year, the pier will be closed intermittently for repairs to the storage area. These proactive measures are aimed at preserving the pier’s longevity and continued enjoyment by the community and its many visitors.
