Pinellas County Detectives Arrest Former Homeowners Association Manager For Grand Theft

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives assigned to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Economic Crimes Unit have arrested 56-year-old Stephanie Lopez, former Mediterranean Manor homeowners association manager, for a Scheme to Defraud and Grand Theft.

Detectives began their investigation in May 2023 after receiving reports from Lopez’s employer, Harbeck Hospitality, the management company for Mediterranean Manor, that Lopez was embezzling money from the homeowners association.

Through their investigation, detectives learned Lopez would utilize Mediterranean Manor’s homeowner’s association funds to pay her bills, including her mortgage, purchasing new windows for her residence, insurance, cable bills, and Amazon purchases.

Lopez secretly misappropriated $24,664.88 in Mediterranean Manor’s homeowner’s association funds.

On February 7, 2024, detectives arrested Lopez and charged her with one count of Scheme to Defraud and one count of Grand Theft. Lopez was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
