Pinellas County Student Arrested For Written Threats To Kill Or Conduct A Mass Shooting

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. - A Pinellas County Schools student was arrested Tuesday for threatening violence and attempting to get other students involved in a mass shooting at East Lake High School.

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A Pinellas County Schools student was arrested Tuesday for threatening violence and attempting to get other students involved in a mass shooting at East Lake High School.

According to detectives, 15-year-old Adam Brueggeman sent messages to another student regarding participating in a school shooting that would take place at East Lake High School.

The student who received the messages notified school personnel, who contacted law enforcement.

Detectives made contact with Brueggeman at his residence, where he admitted to sending the message, but told detectives the threat was a joke.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Brueggeman was taken into custody and transported to the Pinellas Juvenile Assessment Center.
