Polk County Vaccine Registration Extended to Residents 60 Years of Age and Older

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Health in Polk County, in partnership with Polk County Board of County Commissioners, is expanding

COVID-19 vaccinations across the county and encouraging residents 18 years of age and older who are interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccine to register through Polk’s vaccination portal.

On Monday, March 8th, Governor DeSantis issued Executive Order 21-62 which expands COVID-19 vaccination in Florida to extend individuals 60 years of age and older. This executive order will take effect on Monday, March 15th.

COVID-19 vaccinations in Florida will include the following:

  • Long-term care facility residents and staff;
  • Persons 60 years of age and older;
  • Health care personnel with direct patient contact;
  • K-12 school employees 50 years of age and older;
  • Sworn law enforcement officers 50 years of age and older; and
  • Firefighters 50 years of age and older. 

Florida residents who are interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccine are encouraged to register online through Polk County’s COVID-19 vaccine portal, which can be found at https://register.polk.health/. Through the portal, individuals can create an account and upload personal information to be contacted for future appointments as current executive orders allow.

Individuals 60 years of age and older may also call Polk County’s COVID-19 Vaccine Call Center at (863) 298-7500 for assistance in registering through the vaccine portal.

At this time, Polk County is up-to-date on appointments for current vaccine registrations. Currently, appointments are being scheduled next week for individuals who are registered in the portal that are included in the newest executive order.

COVID-19 vaccine to residents as quickly and efficiently as possible. As of March 9th, more than 92,000 individuals in Polk county have received the COVID-19 vaccine.
