SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. – An Everbridge notification was issued just before 3 a.m. indicating a possible levee break in the Hidden River community.
The notification was issued countywide which means that all residents throughout Sarasota County who are registered through Everbridge likely received a warning.
To clarify – the compromise of this levee appears that it WILL ONLY IMPACT HOMES ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE HIDDEN RIVER COMMUNITY (a neighborhood located east on Fruitville Road).
For additional clarification, this levee compromise SHOULD NOT impact any other areas in Sarasota County including Venice or North Port.

At this time, deputies are working with Sarasota County Fire personnel to go door-to-door and advise residents of potential flooding.
Residents are encouraged to consider evacuation.
