WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Winter Haven Police Department will participate in the DEA Prescription Drug Take Back with the ever-popular Purge Your Pills and Shred Your Stuff.
On Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 10 am – 2 pm, Crown Business Solutions will be on hand for residents to bring items for shredding.
This service is offered at no cost to residents and has no limit. (No businesses, please.) This event is held two times a year to ensure citizens have the opportunity to safely dispose of unused and expired prescriptions (including pet meds) and paperwork that is no longer needed but, if in the wrong hands, could cause identity theft or financial fraud.

At the Saturday event, a campaign for a safe gun storage solution kicks off with a FREE gun lock giveaway.
Educating the community on firearm storage safety is the main priority for this campaign.
“It’s important that we get as much information out about how to properly secure your firearms,” said Police Chief David Brannan. “To minimize a child getting hurt is paramount in our dedication to this campaign.”
This simple piece of equipment can minimize a firearm being used in a very tragic situation. Firearm ownership is a huge responsibility.
