‘Puttin’ For Pepin’ Helicopter To Drop 1,000 Golf Balls To Benefits Students

TAMPA, Fla. – Imagine this: A helicopter loaded with golf balls, lets them lose on the golf course. This takes fundraising to new heights, all to benefit local students.

This event is all about giving students with disabilities a better education and specialized schooling.

Covid has been especially hard for the kids who’ve been having to deal with pandemic challenges, but the school worked to make it as comfortable and learning-focused as possible.

This Monday, April 26th they have a unique event to help keep programs going and growing.

It’s the Puttin’ for Pepin Golf Tournament & Helicopter Golf Ball Drop Event. 1,000 numbered golf balls will drop from a helicopter onto Avila’s putting green to open the tournament with multiple chances to win up to $5,000 in cash and prizes.

The ball closest to the pin receives. Just $10 to take a chance. Funds raised keep the programs going strong. How cool will this visual be?

Pepin Academies has 3 campuses in Tampa, Riverview and New Port Richey. They serve kids from 3rd through 12th grade. They also have a special transition program geared for students 18-22 to help them with school to work life real world transitions.

Don Orrico is the Director of Development at Pepin Academies Foundation. He says this event shows how much they like to create fun events to share their vision and hopes for the students and the year ahead.

His goal is to give these kids the best education possible so they can be contributing members of our community.

Orrico says, “These students are Beacons of Hope for our community. Let’s showcase all the great ways they are making our community better! “

They really are doing it, in this case, one golf ball at a time.
