Raymond James Stadium Lights up Blue to Honor Fallen Officers

TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Sports Authority is joining other community partners, by lighting up Raymond James Stadium in blue to honor Tampa Police Officer Jesse Madsen, as well as all law enforcement officers we have lost in the line of duty.

The stadium will be lit blue each night for the next 6 days.

This year we have seen the tragic loss of three area law enforcement officers.

In addition to Officer Madsen, Hillsborough County Master Corporal Brian Lavigne died January 11th and Pinellas County Deputy Michael Magli lost his life trying to stop a drunk driver on February 17th.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with all the families of our fallen law enforcement officers,” said the Tampa Sports Authority in a statement.

The Tampa Sports Authority is the manager of Raymond James Stadium and three city golf courses as well as the landlord for George Steinbrenner Field and the Amalie Arena.
