Report: Florida’s Total Of New COVID Infections Falls To An 18-Month Low

The liberal mainstream media may want to keep giving Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis the Trump treatment on COVID.

But that might be harder to do as the virus has receded into the background.

Florida Politics noted on Friday that the state’s total of new infections in November was the lowest monthly total in 18 months.

“The latest federal data show Florida reported 42,879 confirmed cases during November, the lowest monthly caseload since May 2020, before the first summer surge of 2020 hit Florida,” the website reported, citing data from the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

The state also reported 2,042 COVID-related deaths in November. That was the lowest monthly total in the past few months, since the summer spike from Delta.

That number was down by more than 50 percent compared to October, and plummeted about 80 percent from September’s total.

Florida Politics noted that the Sunshine State topped 100,000 new cases in June 2020. The state’s total had not fallen below 50,000 in a month until November 2021.

For comparison, Florida recorded almost 679,000 cases in August.

As The Free Press reported in November and as much of the world, including America’s own president, trembles before a new strain of COVID-19 that, as of the moment, leaves its “victims” with more or less the equivalent of a bad head cold, Florida continues to bask in the light of the lowest rate of new infection of actual COVID.

The impact of the new Omicron variant has yet to be felt in the state of Florida.

Health authorities in South Africa, where the variant was first reported, have said it’s possible Omicron could be more transmissible than other strains, but that patients are having much milder symptoms.
