The list of foreign governments seeking favors from the Biden family continues to grow.

Besides Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia, and China, one of President Joe Biden’s closest relatives, his brother James, was involved in a financial venture with officials from Qatar, Politico reported on Sunday.

The news spread out of a bankruptcy court in Kentucky.

Politico noted that if the alleged deals are proven, they would “constitute some of the closest known financial links between a relative of President Joe Biden and a foreign government.”

According to Politico, after his brother left office as vice president, Jim Biden worked with two financiers to shore up funding for Americore, a healthcare company that owned a chain of hospitals.

Politico noted that Jim’s associates worked a deal to keep “cash-strapped” Americore going with bridge loans until they could raise $30 million.

After the first loan went through, Americore cut Jim Biden a check for $400,000. Shortly thereafter, Jim sent Joe $200,000.

The Biden administration has maintained to congressional Republican investigators that Jim’s payment was for an undisclosed loan.

A few months later, Jim was angling to get a meeting with the head of the Qatar Investment Authority, a sovereign investment fund worth $1 trillion. He was trying to raise $200 million for Americore.

In a letter to the head of the QIA, Jim wrote, “My family could provide a wealth of introductions and business opportunities at the highest levels that I believe would be worthy of the interest of His Excellency.” He added, “On behalf of the Biden family, I welcome your interest here.”

Politico noted that at the time, Qatar faced a financial blockade from its neighbors, led by Saudi Arabia, for its alleged ties to terrorist groups.

The pitch to the Qataris never came to fruition.

Politico also reported that Biden “invoked his ties to his older brother and sought workarounds to restrictions on international money movements.”

Jim’s outreach to Qatar is also being reviewed as part of transactions connected to a federal criminal investigation in Palm Beach County.

In that instance, investors in a fund controlled by one of Jim’s partners allege the money manager embezzled millions of dollars through phony loans to Americore. Involved in that was $600,000 paid to Jim Biden.
