At least three officers from the Washington, D.C., National Guard will tell lawmakers this week that President Donald Trump wanted to deploy troops to quell the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol, but the Army stymied his wishes, according to a media report.

The Daily Mail reported on Saturday that the whistleblowers’ testimony, expected to be given Wednesday, will also reveal that their stories were ignored by the Democrats’ special committee that investigated the riot because it didn’t fit the panel’s narrative.

The officers will appear at a hearing that seeks to prove then-acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller, at Trump’s direction, did give advance approval of D.C. National Guard deployment for the protest that later erupted into violence.

According to the Daily Mail, the witnesses will testify that then-Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy delayed by at least two hours in giving DC Guard Commander William Walker official notice to deploy soldiers to the Capitol.

The outlet also noted that the troops are expected to tell lawmakers that Guard personnel sat on buses in full tactical gear for hours awaiting the Army’s order to go.

While McCarthy has testified that he did give that order, the witnesses claim they learned they were being mobilized from a press conference.

The upshot was that troops were held up for more than three hours before arriving at the Capitol.

Just as important, the troops are expected to share that the committee handpicked by then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi to look into the riot rejected their testimony because it supported claims by Trump and his backers that he authorized Guard support of law enforcement days in advance of the J6 protest.

The witnesses will appear before the House Administration Committee’s Oversight Subcommittee, which is led by Georgia GOP Rep. Barry Loudermilk.

This would be the third time in recent weeks that Loudermilk has torpedoed the anti-Trump work of Pelosi’s J6 panel.

As the Tampa Free Press reported last month, Loudermilk released a report about the Secret Service agent who drove Trump around Washington on Jan. 6, 2021, as the riot unfolded. RELATED: Trump Calls For Liz Cheney, J6 Committee Members To Be Jailed After Bombshell Report

The agent testified that Trump never lunged at him or tried to grab the steering wheel of his limo in an effort to get to the riot.

The report undermined testimony by Cassidy Hutchinson, a former Trump White House aide, whose account made her one of the J6 committee’s most important witnesses.

The report also revealed that former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney, a well-known Trump hater who was vice chairwoman of the J6 committee, lied about his actions that day because she promoted Hutchinson’s story despite having personally participated in the interview of the Secret Service driver.

The Daily Mail also reported that Loudermilk released a transcript of a never-before-seen interview with Tony Ornato, the leader of Trump’s security detail on J6, who testified that Trump authorized the Guard’s mobilization and deployment to D.C. that day.
