Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to a single-alarm structure fire Monday evening.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to a single-alarm structure fire Monday evening.

According to officials, HCFR’s dispatch received multiple 911 calls from people reporting flames and smoke were coming through the roof of one of the apartments at 7812 River Resort Lane in Tampa.

HCFR’s Engine 32 was the first unit on the scene, reporting occupants outside of the structure and confirming flames through the roof of the two-story apartment building. Crews from Engine 32 quickly pulled a hose line to perform an interior attack on the blaze.

In addition, truck 32 began setting up aerial operations if needed. Nearby hydrants supplied water to support firefighting operations.

Additional crews performed primary and secondary searches, and no occupants were found in the structure.

The blaze was under control 23 minutes after the first arriving crews and was contained to two (of 6) units in the building.

One firefighter was transported for heat exhaustion in stable condition. There were no civilian injuries and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
