The most joyous of all holiday recipes. The Santa’s Whiskers recipe produces soft, slice-and-bake cookies with almond flavor, coconut flakes, and cherry bits.

Santa’s Whiskers Cookies are a cute slice-and-bake treat that I’m offering today. After learning about these cookies from my cousin Mary Cantrell, I had to share them this holiday season.

These almond-flavored cookies are rolled in coconut, decorated with festive cherries, and baked until the edges turn brown. They certainly are lovely.

Santa’s Whiskers

  • 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 Cup of Chopped Pecans
  • 1/4 teaspoon Almond Extract

Instructions

  • Cream the butter and sugar together in a non-stick bowl and beat until fluffy
  • Add vanilla, almond extract, and milk. Mix in the flour, add the cherries and pecans
  • Roll this mixture into 3 to 7-inch logs, then roll the logs in the coconut.
  • Refrigerate for 2 hours.
  • After the 2-hour chill, slice the rolls into 1/4-inch slices.
