ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A St. Petersburg couple has been charged with sexual battery after holding down a woman they had just met and sexually assaulting her.
On Friday, a man and a woman identified as Alec Farwell and Gracie Mowery befriended a group of young women in downtown St. Petersburg.
Police say at 1 a.m., the couple invited them back to their apartment at 225 1st Avenue North to continue socializing and swim in their pool.

While her friends were swimming in the pool, the male suspect carried the victim back to the apartment.
Gracie Mowery assisted in holding down the woman while the man sexually assaulted her.
The victim was able to escape and call police.
Alec Farwell, was charged with sexual battery, and Gracie Mowery was charged with sexual battery and false imprisonment.
