ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – With hurricane season actively underway, the City of St. Petersburg is proactively reminding its residents about the continuous availability of sandbags and is encouraging participation in its upcoming Second Saturday Sandbag Distribution event this weekend. The City emphasizes the importance of early preparation to mitigate potential storm impacts.
The next Second Saturday Sandbag Distribution event is scheduled for Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Pavement Traffic Operations Building, located at 1744 9th Ave. N. The distribution will run from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

To ensure equitable distribution, each St. Pete household is eligible to receive a maximum of 10 sandbags. Residents must present valid proof of St. Pete residency to pick up their sandbags. City staff will be present at the event to assist residents and answer any questions they may have regarding sandbag use and hurricane preparedness.
The City of St. Petersburg reiterates that sandbags are not solely available during declared emergencies but are a year-round resource. The regular sandbag distribution location at the Pavement and Traffic Operations Building operates Monday through Friday, in addition to the second Saturday of each month, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
