St. Petersburg Man Killed In Wednesday Morning Crash

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - A 65-year-old St. Petersburg man died this morning in a two-vehicle traffic crash near the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street North and 58th Avenue North.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A 65-year-old St. Petersburg man died this morning in a two-vehicle traffic crash near the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street North and 58th Avenue North.

Police say shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday, a burgundy Toyota Sienna van driven by the St. Petersburg man was traveling northbound on Dr. MLK Jr. Street North.

As it approached 58th Avenue North. for an unknown reason, the van crossed the center line and crashed into an oncoming white Mercedes GLE43 Coupe.

The driver of the Toyota died at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 53-year-old St. Petersburg woman, was taken by ambulance to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police say the investigation remains open and active
