St. Petersburg Sandbag Sites Now Open

Sandbag sites in St. Petersburg are now open, according to officials.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Sandbag sites in St. Petersburg are now open, according to officials.

“Due to high demand, our public works employees have been working hard to get the sandbag sites open today,” aid St. Petersburg Police Department.

They will be self-serve today. City workers will be on hand to assist tomorrow, according to the SPPD.

Sandbags provide only limited protection. Prepare your personal storm plan and know your evacuation zone and plan accordingly.

Sandbags will also be available on Monday, 8 a.m. to sundown, and Tuesday 8 a.m. until weather conditions permit, to city residents  at the following city locations:

  • Lake Maggiore, 3601 Dr. MLK Jr. St. S
  • Northeast Park, 875 62nd Avenue NE
  • Northwest Pool, 2331 60th Street N

Residents should provide proof of St. Petersburg residency and will be limited to 10 sandbags.
