Tampa Man Killed When Struck By Three Vehicles On I-75 In Pasco County

A 41-year-old Tampa man was killed in a crash that happened on I-75 in Pasco County early Thursday morning.

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A 41-year-old Tampa man was killed in a crash that happened on I-75 in Pasco County early Thursday morning.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, on Thursday at 5:07 AM, the Tampa man and his 20-year-old son were traveling southbound on I-75, near Milepost 274, when the 2002 Ford Expedition they were operating became disabled.

The vehicle was driven to a stop along the highway shoulder and, impaired, the pair exited the vehicle.

Troopers say that the man attempted to cross I-75 on foot, but was struck in successive order by three vehicles. The three vehicles came to a controlled stop along the highway.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. The crash closed the southbound lanes of I-75 at SR-56 until 2:30 PM.
