Tampa Police Arrest 14-Year-Old For Shooting Fellow Teen On Armenia Ave

TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Police have arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old boy on Friday.

Police say at approximately 3:42 p.m., officers responded to the 8600 block of N Armenia Ave following a report of a juvenile who had been shot.

Witnesses told investigators the incident happened following a fight near a bus stop in Armenia.

Officers retrieved video that captured the incident showing the suspect chasing the victim with a firearm in his hand.

The suspect was later identified as Scott Decerant was charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault with Intent to Commit a Felony with a Weapon (Firearm)
  • Attempted Murder in the First-Degree, (Premeditated/Firearm)
  • Aggravated Battery with Great Bodily Harm or Deadly Weapon (Firearm)
  • Carrying Concealed Firearm
  • Minor in Possession of a Firearm
